PROJECT DETAILS

When water in a river is low, wicket gates may be raised to help maintain a navigational pool in the river to allow barges to transfer goods on a regular basis. Supreme Integrated Technology, Inc. was tasked with the fabrication and assembly of a Deployable Working Platform to be installed on a barge. This platform is meant to assist vessels by lowering to the water line and allowing men to work on gates/other equipment on the Mississippi River.

SIT’s customer came to our team with an initial design of the deployable working platform.  For this project SIT assisted with design/integration modifications and improvements. These changes ensured that the platform functioned efficiently and safely in a manner that would fully satisfy the end user.

Once assembled, the system underwent full load and functional tests at SIT’s facility before shipping to the customer. After the unit was installed on the vessel, SIT personnel traveled to the customer’s location to perform final start-up and functional test. This project is now fully commissioned with all customer standards and is properly functioning on the vessel.
